Einstein's Theory of Relativity dared us to re-inturpt how we view time, affected our everyday lives and has even helped with our global positioning system (gps)
In 1905 Albert Einstein published his Special Theory of Relativity, and his General Theory of Relativity was made public in 1915(Implications beyond science ). This theory challenged the way traditional science had veiwed certain physics aspectes. (Implications beyond science ). It descibed that time is relative(Implications beyond science ) and it depends on viewpoint or some circumstances.(Implications beyond science ) Before the Theroy of Relativity time was thought to be fixed, but now with this theory we understand that time is relative(Implications beyond science ). We know know that time is dependent on your viewpoint and the circumstances (i.e. inertial reference frame) in which you viewed these "constant" affected the properties which you measure (Implications beyond science ). This was slightly proved when scintist figured out that after the first six months in space, the crew of the ISS aged .007 seconds less than the rest of us on Earth (Implications beyond science ).
Time stops when using the speed of light
The theory of relativity helps us in many different ways. The theroy can help us heat our homes, help us reach our desztinations, and measure our days. (Implications beyond science ). Theory also has a lot to do with nuclar energy and our global postioning systems, or GPS.(Implications beyond science ). The theory also effects our military. Without it our milirtay couldn't posses nuclear warheads, or nuclear-powered submariens.
Global postioning systems or GPS is very much conected with the Theory of Relativity. (Implications beyond science )The military and in combat today they use nuclear warheads and nuclear-powered submarines. These technologies rely on relativity through GPS. However GPS enables not only the department of Defense, but also the commuter who has just taken a wrong turn and the couple seraching for a restaurant.(Implications beyond science )
Einstein's theory of relativity has affected our lives greatly. From changing the way we think about time, our everyday lives and even our technology. When we thought time was constant Einstein proved us wrong, when we heat our house and use our GPS, we may not know it but we are using the theroy of relativity all around us, all the time. This website has very good graphs and diagrams. Its very easy to understand and reading is simple. It seems very credible to me. There also seems a lot of effort put into it. The recourses were also credible. The website was easy to acess and navigate through.
